What type of estate agent are you? I like to think that I’m honest and approachable. I enjoy talking to people and finding out what makes them tick. This really helps when trying to find the right property for them, so I have a good understanding of what they want and need. I’ve never believed in the hard sell, as no-one ever buys a house impulsively, and you usually alienate people by putting them under pressure. Buyers and sellers need to be able to trust in your abilities, your knowledge, and your honesty. Who will enjoy working with you? I get on with most people, but particularly someone who appreciates the no-nonsense and straightforward approach. I’m always conscious of being kind and delivering bad news in a way that causes minimal upset because tensions can run high when buying or selling. What does good customer service look, sound and feel like? It should be seamless and done without fuss or the demand for recognition. I try to anticipate the needs of my clients and buyers, but everyone makes mistakes on occasion and an apology makes a huge difference when putting things right. Ultimately, it’s about doing the best you possibly can and making others feel that they’re most important - with no request being beyond your capabilities. What benefits does your style of business bring to a modern home buyer or seller? easyProperty’s ethos is to be welcoming and friendly to everyone. It’s about building a rapport with both buyers and sellers, which suits my personality perfectly. There’s nothing wrong with being nice. After over 10 years in the industry, I’m still learning and I’m happy to take advice from those with more experience. There’s always someone at easyProperty willing to share their knowledge. How can you value a home you’ve never visited? My permanently itchy feet means I’ve been lucky enough to live all over the UK (Devon, Liverpool, Edinburgh, Sussex to name a few). If I haven’t lived there, I’ve probably visited. I also believe in doing plenty of research, whether it’s online or speaking to a local resident -this gives me a feel for the location and current market conditions. I also find information about local schools, crime rates and look at what’s on the market or has recently sold to build a complete picture. Something interesting about you that no one else would know? I’m calmest and happiest near water, I’m a trained chef and I’m about to study for a Master’s in building surveying.Areas Covered by
