Best areas to live in Crewe

Crewe Green: Crewe Green is a small village which lies 1½ miles east of to the centre of Crewe. Surrounded by stunning green fields but with the added benefit of being close enough to walk into Crewe’s centre, what’s not to love?

Properties within Crewe Green saw sales last year of an overall average price of £222,714. A majority of sales in Crewe Green during the last year were detached properties, selling for an average price of £248,000. Semi-detached properties sold for an average of £159,498.

Haslington: Haslington is a village situated just 2 miles north east of Crewe and just 4 miles south of Sandbach. If you’re looking for a beautiful area that allows you to escape the hustle and bustle of city life Haslington is for you.

Visit the Haslington cricket club first founded over 100 years the club today has been at its current location 25+ years; the club offers a great social scene. Properties in Haslington had an overall average price of £200,901 over the last year.

Most of the properties sold in Haslington during the last year were detached, selling for an average price of £256,278. Semi-detached properties fetched an average of £180,908, with terraced properties sold on average at £180,035.

Things to do in Crewe

Crewe Heritage Centre

Pay a visit to the Crewe Heritage Centre and step back in time and explore its railway history. The Heritage Centre was opened in 1987 by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and His Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh to officially mark the 150th anniversary of the first train to arrive at Crewe Railway Station in 1837. View locomotives, memorabilia and historical exhibits including the signalling box itself across the years.

Queens Park

Another popular location is Queens Park, a charming Victorian park restored to its former glory renowned for being one of the most beautiful parks within the North West. Enjoy a picnic in the summer months or cosy up with a coffee in the café in the winter after a chilly walk.

Tom’s Tap and Brewhouse

If a tipple tickles your fancy, then head to the Tom’s Tap and Brewhouse a microbrewery and taproom offering a great selection of beers, ciders as well as wines and spirits along soft drinks with you won’t be disappointed.

Feel like royalty sitting in its plush red seats with stunning decoration whilst sitting back to enjoy a show and perhaps a treat in the interval break.

Bentley Motors Factory Tour

Another important part of the history of Crewe is its production of the luxury motorcar Bentley. Crewe has been producing Bentleys since 1946 at its Pyms Lane factory known as the home of Bentley Motors. Get the chance to see Bentley’s throughout the years and take part in a Factory Tour. Crewe Hall
