Two scheduled monuments lie close to the centre of the area: an Iron Age banjo enclosure with associated enclosure and linear features south-west of South Tadworth Farm and a bowl barrow that was later used as a beacon at Tumble Beacon. Eight listed buildings stand within about a mile, all Grade II, among them Great Burgh with its attached wall, railings, piers, terrace and steps and two coal tax posts near the racecourse.
