In 1966 the city limits were extended to take in newer building along Maypole Lane, Alcester Road South and Highters Heath Lane. Two Grade II listed buildings stand within half a mile of the centre: Kingswood Meeting House And Sunday School and a barn and cart shed south of Hollytree Farmhouse.
